Though Renato Solines studied law in Ecuador, he soon discovered that his passion and talents lay in entrepreneurship and business. Armed with a graduate master in Business and Global Development, he and his wife, Veronica Reed, created an architecture, environmental design and research studio. Over some 15 years the pair then worked on various environmental design and community development projects, always setting extremely high environmental and social goals.
In 2011 the couple decided to preserve and fully renovate a family property owned by Renato’s grandmother Carlota. With great love and admiration for this wonderful and loving woman, the couple began working to restore the beautiful historical house that would become the Carlota Hotel
