Inspiring the Next Generation
At Hotel Carlota, we believe in the power of education to drive change. To achieve this, we collaborate with the CEES (Ecuadorian Green Building Council), an organization of leading architects and engineers promoting sustainable construction in Ecuador.
Our hotel serves as a living laboratory. We open our doors to CEES members and university professors, allowing students to experience firsthand how LEED Certification works in a real-world setting.
Heritage Meets Innovation Recently, we hosted senior Architecture students from the International University of Ecuador (UIDE). During their visit, they explored how a heritage home built in 1905 was successfully adapted for a second life. We highlighted:
- The preservation of the original façade and materials.
- The integration of LEED requirements to achieve high environmental performance.
- Strategies for maintaining a low-emission building.
By sharing our process, we hope to inspire the future architects of a more sustainable Ecuador.
